Is the AMEX Blue Cash Everyday Card Worth it?
With a decent sign up bonus and rare credits on a no-annual-fee card, the card is a keeper for the long term.
Cash back can be redeemed instantly with no minimums, and the cap of $6,000 of spend per 3% category is generous. The biggest draw of the card is the 3% online shopping category. The only cards with comparable bonus rewards at online retailers are:
➡️ Chase's Amazon Prime Visa (5% back but only at Amazon)
➡️ Bank of America's Customized Cash Rewards (3% back on online shopping but only up to $2,000 in spend)
➡️ CapitalOne's VentureX (2x CapitalOne points per dollar on all purchases [worth 3-4% back] but $395 Annual Fee)
If you want to earn on gas, groceries, and online shopping with a $0 annual fee, the BCE is a solid credit card.
The Blue Cash Everyday pairs well with cards that earn well on dining and travel, such as:
➡️ Bilt Mastercard: [3x Bilt Points on Dining (worth 4-6%) and 2x on Travel (worth 3-4%)]
➡️ American Express Gold Card: [4x AMEX Points on Dining/Groceries (worth 6-8%) and 3x on Flights (worth 4-6%)]
The card is a good option for a 2nd or 3rd card, as it isn't too difficult to get approved for.
